Et scoping review er en type litteraturgennemgang, der har til formål at kortlægge omfanget, karakteren og bredden af eksisterende forskning inden for et bestemt emneområde. Den bruges ofte til at identificere forskningshuller, afklare begreber eller definere omfanget af et forskningsfelt, uden at lave en detaljeret kvalitetsvurdering af de inkluderede studier. Scoping reviews er særligt nyttige i områder, hvor forskningen er fragmenteret eller tværfaglig.
