Det Naturvidenskabelige Fakultet

In Europe the term, Biology, deals with all aspects of animals, plants, algae, fungi, and microorganisms and their relations to their environment. In USA the term is almost synonymous with Physiology.

The library deals the biological subject areas in broad terms and covers many aspects like anatomy, Biogeny (including cell biology, reproduction, embryology, variation, genetics and evolution), physiology, biochemistry, biophysics, botany and zoology. Additional to these terms are also the fields common and topographic biology, economic biology, ecology, salt- and freshwater biology, microbiology, biodiversity etc.

The collection of printed biology literature goes back to 15th century. Today the collection is mainly enriched with electronical ressources (i.e., e-books, e-journals, and online databases) - mainly based on suggestions from our users.

Staff and students from The University of Copenhagen have remote access to all our electronical ressources. For all other users of the Royal Library there is free access to all our e-resources from all our different  locations in Copenhagen.

All our books and journals are registered in our Catalouge, soeg.kb.dk,- where you can find them - and make your orders or reservations. NOTICE!: If you did not find what you were looking for, you can use the "button" : "Special request" in the Toolbar above the Search field to order the missing book or journal article. Free delivery for private users living in Denmark, if we do find the material somewhere in the country. Free of charge for staff and students at The University of Copenhagen - also, if the material has to be ordered from outside Denmark.
